In my real-world testing in 90-degree weather, I got a full 4 days of ice retention. If you pre-chill the cooler with a "sacrifice bag" of ice the night before, you can easily stretch that to 5 or 6 days.
When empty, yes, it's about 23 pounds. When fully loaded with ice and 28 cans, it becomes a two-person job unless you're looking for a serious workout.
It is certified bear-resistant, but only if you use extra long-shank padlocks on the corners. Without the locks, a grizzly will pop those rubber latches in seconds.
